What is working, do not change this
•The channel is still at the top of its niche. What we are doing right now is working.
•The audience is unusually loyal. Watch behaviour looks the same for subscribers and non subscribers. They watch regardless of how a given video is packaged.
•Small delivery mistakes are not costing anything. There are moments where Kenny misspeaks and corrects himself, or talks about a play that did not land. Nobody is leaving the video over it. This is not a problem to fix.
•The educational library is the real business driver. Those videos are what convert, and they keep earning views over time.
•The "can I beat the best pro player" videos are still the highest viewed on the channel, and they are around two years old. That format is proven on this specific channel.
What is not working, and why
1.The dip is the game's popularity curve, not the channel.
Interest in College Football 27 peaked in July when the game launched and has come down since. That is the normal shape. Last year's title did the same thing and then climbed back in the fall as the real season and the playoffs came around. Real college football is starting now, so we expect performance to come back up on its own.
2.We have used up the broad educational concepts.
Every wide "how to get good" idea has been made. What is left is narrower, and narrower means fewer people. The game itself puts a ceiling on how many people can be reached, so pushing harder on the same lane will not add views.
3.Update videos do not do anything for the business.
Patch and roster updates bring in people who are not going to buy coaching. Occasionally one is fine. They should not be the backbone.
4.The channel is only online head to head.
Everything is competitive head to head play. That is a narrow slice of the game and it makes it hard to find new angles. Blake has sent over a large number of ideas and this is the limit he keeps running into.
5.Concepts we already sent have not been made.
We handed over a set of concepts months ago and they did not get filmed because there was no time during launch. That was fair during launch. Launch is over now, so if Kenny wants the numbers to move there is room to actually make them.
